General Information About This Tour
- Welcome to Yogyakarta and direct to visit the greatest Buddhist stupa – Borobudur temple ( 42 kms northwest of Yogyakarta ), built in the 8th century by the Cailendra dynasty. It stands majestically on a hillock overlooking lush green fields and distant hills. Its bas-reliefs are considered to be the largest and most complete in the world. Break for lunch.
- Continue to Yogyakarta Sultan’s Royal Palace (Kraton) and Sonobudoyo Museum (open daily except Monday). Visit a traditional ‘batik’ factory and watch the silversmiths at work in Kota Gede.
- After City tour, we proceed an excursion to enjoy the charm of the Javanese Hindu temple complex of Prambanan, built in the 9th century with its magnificent main temple of Rorojonggrang . Visit Kalasan, Sewu and Plaosan temples nearby.
- Transfer to Yogyakarta airport for next destination.(L)
